Meet the 2015 scholarship recipients:
KYLIE GEORGE A determined student with interests in journalism and science. She was editor of the school newspaper and expects to continue this interest in college. She plans to major in math and science and seek a career in astrophysics.
VICTORIA GUNNELL Hard working, outstanding student who has wanted to be a pediatrician since third grade. Besides being active in the model United Nations program and helping students in a related program at Thurston Middle School, she works part time and sells her artwork.
LAUREN MC KEEHAM Maintaining a high grade point average while working part time at two jobs displays the maturity of this student who aspires to a career in chemistry. Lauren has been inspired by her high school chemistry teacher who has given students real research projects to work on.
AVIVA MYERS This senior has many passions; tutoring, creative writing, the model United Nations program and dance. She would like a career that is geared towards helping others. Aviva was instrumental in getting $11,500 in grant money for a high school project of designing and creating a solar powered water sterilizer that will be sent to Masai Mara, Kenya.
